50 Ways to cope with the Death of Your Child
This author has written a guide for grieving parents from a position of personal experience. Her 50 Ways to Cope, contained in 10 chapters, takes the experience from shock and denial to affirming reality. Kurz brings out an interesting point which I can relate to as a mother who has lived through and survived the same experience. After living through the worse ordeal a parent can experience, there sometimes evolves a sense of empowerment. She uses a quote from Harriet Schiff (The Bereaved Parent), which adequately expresses this idea: 'The fear of the unknown is behind us, for most of us, because we have already taken a long look at hell.' I highly recommend 50 Ways to Cope to parents who have suffered the death of a child. May it help to bring you the serenity to accept that which you cannot change."
